Halloween en los Estados Unidos
|
Halloween is a celebration that is many years old. However, Halloween came to America, more precisely to the United States, with European immigrants in the nineteenth century. This holiday was inspired by a Pagan celebration that occurred between October 31st and November 2nd. So, it mixes 2 parties of greater antiquity: one being the "Samhain,” a Celtic celebration, and the other being The Day of the Dead. Both are celebrations to honor their ancestors and other relatives who have already died.
Halloween, despite sharing celebration dates with parties in which the dead are remembered, is more closely associated with terror, featuring sci-fi characters or serial killers. Halloween is mostly celebrated in the United States, where children dress up as characters, and go from house to house saying the popular phrase Halloween is a celebration that is many years old.
